Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Holly and Hodge are a bonded father and daughter pair looking for their forever homes. Holly weighs 11 pounds and is a gorgeous 8 year old long hair girl and Hodge weighs 16 pounds and is a handsome 10 year old smooth black and tan boy.
Holly and Hodge are bonded to each other but each have their individual likes and dislikes. Holly is the dominant one of the two of them. She will stand her ground to keep her toy and will try and take them away from other dogs. Holly is very playful and enjoys playtime with others. Hodge is very laid back and somewhat submissive.
Hodge and Holly are both loving and enjoy lots of pets and loves. If you are sitting down they will ask to be petted by rubbing against your foot or hand. Their foster mom has nicknamed the teddy bears because they are SO very loving. They would love a home that has a lot of time to spend with them and they would be perfect for someone who works from home or is retired. Holly and Hodge would do best in a home with no other dogs as Holly can be quite protective of her toys and everyone else’s too.
Hodge and Holly enjoy car rides and sleep in the big bed with their foster mom in their Florida foster home. They would like a home where they can continue to have big bed privileges. They would do well in a home with older children (12 years and older). They are in a foster home with other dogs and are doing well, but would do best in a home where they could be the only dogs. When Holly and Hodge have been around kitties they were quite indifferent to them so we believe that they would do well in a home with cats.
Holly and Hodge are mostly pee pad trained and will go outside to potty when they are reminded. At one time they were house trained to ask to go out , but this has slipped backwards since they have been surrendered to rescue. They are working on this with their foster mom and just need some time to establish good habits. Like all dachshunds they will need to be confident in their environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important.
This super cuddly father and daughter are waiting for their forever home. Are you going to be the lucky one to welcome them into your family?
