My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I’m Duke and I’m looking for someone to be my forever cuddle buddy.

I’m the bestest buddy you could have. I will stay by your side and be there for you when you need someone to pet and cuddle with. I’d make a great running buddy as I have some energy that I need to get out and running is so much fun. Also, I’d like to try out hiking and exploring if that’s your thing and I really like walks in the park.

I used to live on a nice lady’s couch but she had to go live where she had help and wasn’t able to take me or my sister with her. My sister went to a border collie rescue a long time ago and I’ve been hanging out here at the shelter waiting for my forever home. We weren’t really bonded and I don’t miss her as there are other dogs here with me and lots of humans that I love. I am more interested in humans and cuddling but I don’t mind other dogs or cats.

Since I was used to being in a home, I know how to walk on a leash and I won’t potty in the house. Don’t ask me what my breed is because no one will tell me what I am. I hear I may be kelpi and they say I run like a greyhound but who knows for sure. They tell me I’m about 7 years old. I know that’s not young but it’s not old either. I’ve still got a lot of life to live and a ton of love to give.

I am in a really small, rural shelter in Lytle, TX and not many people come by to adopt. I can be transported to any state so don’t let distance keep us apart. If you’d like to adopt me, please call Lytle Animal Care and Control at 830-709-3832 and ask for an application.
