My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update: 2/1 Ryker has come a long way in just a few months. He has a beautiful, shiny coat with ears as soft as velvet. He has no more sores and continues to gain weight. What a handsome boy he is! Ryker is a fantastic pup. He really enjoys playing with other canines and plays appropriately. He loves tug of war and just simply running with another dog. The more friends the better for this pup! . He needs a home with another dog to pal around with. Though he has not met cats we don't anticipate a problem as he has a great, easy disposition and we feel would be curious.
Ryker is great on leash, loves to walk and would be perfect for a jogger or runner. Because he is a young, good spirited pup, he has energy to burn! He also loves to snuggle when inside. He is also great with children. He is completely potty trained, would rather not go into a crate however will for a treat and if a person is in the room or another dog is crated next to him or in the room, he is fine. Ryker's fur'ever home needs a physically fenced in area where he can romp and run.
He is a sweet, happy young boy of 8 months old. Ryker was dumped by his original people at what is considered a doggy dumping ground, an area where people just dump unwanted dogs. This was witnessed by a girl who told her Mom. They went back and took Ryker in until a rescue was found. We were contacted. Ryker originally had demodex mange, which was treated and he is fine. He weighed only 28 lbs. when taken in! Despite his meager beginnings, Ryker is one happy go lucky great pup. He is so happy in fact, that we had to have his extra long tail docked (recommended by the vet) because he has "happy tail" which simply means, his tail wags so much it was banging into everything and breaking open on the tip. The vet strongly recommended that his tail be docked. The vet was also impressed by just how happy Ryker is despite his rough start! The only time his tail is not wagging is when he is asleep! Ryker loves to be with his people. Though playful outside, he quickly calms down inside for a petting and some snuggling. Ryker is a great boy in need of a great home. He is very happy go lucky and everything is fine with him! If you are looking for a companion dog to hike or walk (does need work on a leash) or looking for one who would enjoy the dog park, this pup is your boy! If interested in meeting Ryker, please visit www.fassasfriendsboxerrescue.com to complete an adoption application found under the website under the adoption tab found at the top of the website's page. If you are already approved simply email us at fassasfriends@gmail.com with your name, approval status and Ryker's name in the subject line. Let's find this young boy a home where he is welcomed and loved for the rest of his life! How great would that be for him!
