My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾🐾💕🐾🐾 Hi! My name is Tyson and I am 58 pounds of pure love and am said to be approximately 3 years young and a brindle pit bull/bully mix. My foster mom swears if you were able to look me up in the dictionary, you would find me as the perfect example of a love bug. I have been with my foster mom for over four months now and I am ready to find my perfect furever home. I have overcome a lot in my short life, just recently I finished treatment for heartworms and can now begin the next step of getting into a home! I love everybody, I never growl or bark at anyone new or familiar, I just want to give you plenty of kisses and would love to get some belly rubs in return. After a day of playing I really like to cuddle up on the couch with my foster mom. I am crate trained, house trained, neutered and up to date on shots too! Sometimes loud voices or certain noises scare me and I need reassurance that everything is okay. I’m not sure how I feel around cats or other dogs since I am the only pet my foster mom has in her house, but as far as people go, I haven’t met a single person I haven’t loved. I love the outdoors and exploring but sometimes I get a little too excited and want to take off faster than my foster mom can follow but we are working on that. I’m getting better at controlling myself each day that passes. 🙂 I am a quick learner and love figuring out new tricks I can do. I also love playing, whether it’s just by throwing a toy around myself or a game of fetch. My foster mom says I’m basically perfect, and I can’t say I disagree. 😊😉

On a side note, Mister Tyson here truly is a sweetheart. He does need to be fed/played with separate from any other animals. He does love to play but he can get a little rough after a bit (not on purpose) I believe because he was never taught otherwise. I work with him when I can and he picks up quick. He isn’t a bad dog by any means, but a little training couldn’t hurt. When I am teaching him new things he really seems to enjoy it. I haven’t had him around small children but I think he would be fine (as long as they don’t climb all over him) since he never has a problem with anyone he is around. For the most part, he never acts nervous around people or in new environments, he is extremely trusting. I haven’t had him around cats or other dogs aside from in passing so that’s something else I am unsure of with how he would act.

I have been fostering Tyson through Friends of Stanly County Animals for over four months so I have so many pictures and videos 😅 These are some of my favorites. 💕
