My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Photos and Videos added weekly on Amber's Angels Rescue Facebook Page*
Oliver was adopted from Amber's Angels Rescue in 2014 and is being returned (2019.) Oliver's adopter was diagnosed with a terminal illness and his final wishes were for Oliver to find another loving, forever home. Oliver was originally rescued from a southern shelter and then came into Amber's Angels Rescue in 2014. Oliver 5 years old, is black and tan, and weights about 85lbs. Oliver is neutered, vaccinated, and is up to date on frontline/heartguard. His current owner states he's a typical GS; loyal, intelligent, obedient, curious, alert, and watchful. He is housebroken, knows basic obedience (sit, stay, wait, heal, and lay down), Oliver also went through a 4 week training program at Canine Academy in CT. Oliver is leash trained but has had a fenced in yard, and has utilized the local dog park. Oliver does great with other dog but can be picky. He seems to prefer females and dogs who are calmer. The owner suggested that a home without small animals would be best, as Oliver can be too rambunctious for little dogs. Oliver was crate trained but he earned the freedom of his home over the past few years. Oliver is always excited to see people and will greet people with a full-body wiggle. At times, he will be a little jumpy so it's something his new owner must be mindful of when introducing him to people. Oliver has done ok with children but I (Amber) am thinking he may be a little too jumpy and high strung for to live with children everyday, since strict supervision would be required. Oliver does well at the vet but being groomed is scary so he will need a groomer who specializes with dogs who are nervous during grooming time. Like many dogs, Oliver doesn't love the vacuum or thunder so he needs the radio or TV on when either is occurring.
Photos below are from when I first got him into rescue, I will be getting updated photos soon.
The owner would like a little more time with Oliver. The owner wants Oliver to go into a experienced home and wants people to know that Oliver captures hearts everywhere he goes and will be a wonderful companion. Oliver is located in CT and I will be arranging visits with potential adopters. If any other rescues can help, please reach out to me!
