Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, I’m Ophelia!! I will be 2 years old in March and I am a Black Lab mix. I’m about 44 pounds right now, but since I love food hopefully I’ll gain a little more weight.
I am crate trained, although I sometimes am stubborn to go into my crate. Once I am in my crate I am a good girl. I like sleeping in my fosters bedroom at night to make sure they don’t leave me. They are able to go to work all day while I stay in my crate.
Speaking of my foster family, they have a dog and we are best friends! I am really good with other dogs. I also love to know where my foster family is at all times, so I might follow you around the house a lot.
I am still working on my basic commands and walking on a leash, but I know if I get the proper training that I will be very successful at these things! I have a lot of energy and a fenced yard would be perfect for me. I love sniffing everything in my foster parents yard, did you know there are so many smells?!
I am very loving and I can’t wait to find my forever home!
Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.
We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email safehavendogsIL@yahoo.com for an application or additional details.
Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments. Fostering is a rewarding experience for your family.
