Hey friends, what’s up?! My name is Mufasa (d.o.b. 10/30/2007). Not only am I super handsome and a great medium-size at only 45 lbs; people also say I’m one of the coolest fun-lovin’ fellas around, and I really know how to have a good time. I agree! “Fun” should be my middle name. I love to get super playful and excited, running around the yard, tossing toys, and being an energetic goofball. I’m great at fetch, so don’t be surprised if I beg you to toss a few tennis balls or squeaky toys, since those are my favorites! With my energy, daily exercise is a must for me….. so I live by the saying, “A tired dog is a happy dog!” Whether it’s long walks, jogs, or fetch in my fenced yard – I’m ready for new fun ways to release my energy every day. After my exercise, I calm down very well, and enjoy relaxing at your side, sprawling out on the floor for a nap, or just watching out the window while I chew on bone. If you enjoy car rides, you’ll be happy to know I do too! I promise I behave very calmly and politely in the car. If you’re wondering about my history, my prior family moved away, and they were unable to take me or my dog-siblings along. Now I’m waiting to find a true “Forever Family” to spend my life with. I have lived indoors so I’m housebroken, and I’m comfortable with crate training too. I’m incredibly smart and such a fast learner, so I can’t wait to join obedience classes with my new family! I already know SIT, COME, and am quickly learning my other basic commands as we speak. In my prior home I lived fine with kids, yet admit I was a little too hyper at times, so I would really do best with older kids 8-10 yrs old & up who can handle my strength and high-energy when I’m overly-excited during play. Sometimes I get so excited with toys that I do a little play-mouthing/nibbling on your hands, which is a normal phase young energetic dogs go through, but I’m working on improving that! When it comes to other dogs, I’m picky about my new doggie friends, so I need to meet them first to see if we all get along. I lived very well with two other dogs at home, especially my all-time favorite dog friend “Meadow” who I really enjoy playing with (she’s up for Adoption, too!). With new dogs, I sometimes try to think I’m ‘alpha’ but I don’t have to be; so after slow introduction, I do get along with certain dogs once I get to know them. With people, I’m very friendly and always so happy to make new friends, especially if you like to play fetch (or have a few tasty treats as well), then we’ll be pals in no time!
