My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are interested in MARY or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here
Please email the completed application to sarahbeth.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached.

MARY is a gentle soul with a heart of gold. She is wonderful with big dogs, small dogs, and everything in between. She is also fabulous with her foster mom’s grand baby. MARY is intelligent, compassionate, and affectionate. She likes to be near her people wants nothing more than to please them. She knows not to potty in the house, rides nicely in the car, and enjoys both walks and outings. MARY sweet nature endears her to everyone she meets. She is a true gem who will make her forever family’s dreams come true.

MARY is 2 years old and approximately 70 lbs. She doesn’t currently live with kitties but we feel confident she will dog well with them. We are happy to introduce her to cats if the perfect applicant has feline family members.

MARY is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccines.
Her $490 adoption fee includes her interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the Midwest after she is officially adopted.

Please email the completed application to sarahbeth.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and our own private transport for our Midwest adopters.

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
