My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Behr is a 6 month old male Rottweiler Shepherd mix puppy. He is a gawky teenager who hasn’t quite grown into his huge paws yet. Behr is a big love bug - he loves all people and all dogs. He wants to come say “hi” to everyone and greets them with a smile and presents himself for pets and love. He does well with big and small dogs and is very good with kids. He loves to run after the dog who is fetching the ball. He hasn’t quite realized he can bring it back himself. But he is always up for playtime with kids or dogs or with his toys. Behr has not been tested with cats, but he does not appear to have a prey drive so I suspect he may be good with cats. Behr isn’t highly excitable – he is more mellow and chill. He doesn’t jump up, doesn’t dig and isn’t a big chewer. He isn’t a big barker, but sometimes barks his booming bark when playing.
Behr is a special needs puppy. He has a neurological issue which causes a tick so his body will bounce, sort of like he has hiccups. We believe Behr is a Distemper survivor because of the tremors and because his teeth enamel is impaired. The vet says he is otherwise happy and healthy and this disorder should not impair his life. The vet is unsure if the tremors will subside or stay with him. They definitely do not seem to slow him down. He is happy and friendly and doesn’t realize he is any different than other dogs. The tremors are not noticeable when he is playing with other dogs. They mostly manifest when he is resting or staying still. He seems to prefer the hard floor or cool deck to a dog bed or blanket. He is very food motivated which is making training easier.
