My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jennings
YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO SET UP A TIME TO MEET OUR PETS.

Jennings is a darling 5 month old puppy, about 25 pounds, who was found abandoned outside of a vets office with two other dogs. He looks a bit like a Golden Retriever mix but we do not know what actual breed mix he is. One of our wonderful foster moms has taken him home to assess his personality and here is what she says so far:

He is a sweet, quiet, shy boy. New things and people make him pretty nervous and he seems to shy away from people reaching for him. That being said he is warming up and you can tell he wants to be loved. He will sit a foot or so away from you and slowly inch over bit by bit until he is laying up against you.

Noise and chaos do not seem to be an issue, the kids do not make him nervous at all but he is also not as interested in them as I thought he would be. At first the few times he heard the guinea pigs make noise he ran the other way but now he is really interested in them and wants to chase.

He is VERY interested in our golden retriever. Seems to be looking to him as a behavior model, if Watson does it then Jennings does it kind of thing. He growls randomly at our other dog and I cannot really pinpoint why. I am not concerned that they will get into a scrap, but periodically he will look at her and growl a bit. So maybe dog selective? Or maybe just still trying to figure her out since she does not want anything to do with him.

He has not had any accidents in the house, so Im not sure if he has had some house training or if it is a combination of us watching like a hawk and all the dogs going in and out a lot. He does not want to go outside to play, he has no zero interest in hanging out outside. He wants to be in the house, maybe he has been outside a lot and is over it? Either way he figured out immediately that our dogs swat the back door when they want to come in and he employs that trick. He is smart. Very smart.

He sleeps well in his crate and actually goes in it on his own when he wants quiet time. He is a great little guy and is just going to need work being socialized. He is not nearly as high energy as I expected him to be for his age but again I think it is just a matter of him coming out of his shell and getting comfortable.

More updates to come! Jennings will do best with an experienced family.
