My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It is hard to imagine a happier, more handsome collie. Redford has perfectly tipped ears, a welcoming smile and a face that just says “pet me, pet me!” He is a fun boy to have around, always ready to give collie kisses or fetch a ball. He is good with cats, other dogs and older children.

Red is highly food motivated and could afford to lose a few pounds, though his extremely full coat makes him look chubbier than he actually is. His former owner reported some food aggression, but he has not displayed this at his foster home. Red knows a variety of commands including: sit, give paw, leave it, no and lie down. His foster family is working with him about jumping up and he is making progress. He rides well in the car and is also good on a leash. Although he can be vocal while playing outdoors, he listens well and will quiet down when told to do so. He is nervous in small spaces, so he isn’t crated at his foster home.

Redford will be a joyous addition to any family. He gets along with other dogs, is fine with cats and loves to play ball with older children. He will definitely need a fenced yard, since he will run if given the chance, and though he is okay with a few stairs, long staircases frighten him. In spite of his “rock star” good looks, he is just a regular guy at heart and can’t wait to lavish his new family with love.
