Say hello to little (Princess) “POET” who is a black, 5 year old (11/29/2013) Toy Poodle. She comes to us from a senior lady whose health was failing and could no longer care for her beloved little girl. Thank you, Valerie!
At 10” tall and 6 pounds, Poet is proportionate to her size and square in her stance. Her tail is not docked, but she will hold it high. There are no AKC papers or pedigree available, but we can clearly see she is a most beautiful Toy Poodle with obvious quality breeding lines behind her.
I call her “Princess” Poet as she certainly has a pristine and high quality attitude (disposition) about her. She can be very shy and will not come when she is called. But instead, she will jump up onto our living room couch and then let me pick her up from there. Good girl!
Wherever I sit down, she wants to be picked up or will jump into my lap to be held, cuddled and loved. Then when she’s done looking into your soul while getting her fill of love and attention, she will jump down, sit on her cushion and watch everyone from her throne.
Poet doesn’t play with toys, but she will follow you all around the house watching and wondering, “What are YOU doing?”
While Princes Poet would be happy as an only dog, we have also seen that she enjoys being with other small dogs. As pictured on our web site, she likes to cuddle up with Elvis and will follow him around. Hmmmm…. Maybe our Elvis looks like the real Elvis?? Please NO large dogs.
Poet has been with a senior lady all her life. When I’m gone, she likes my husband Mike and will sit in his lap. Otherwise she prefers being with just me while telling Mike that he can go away. Also, Princess Poet is extremely afraid of small children so please, NO children.
When leashed, she will stand and look at you asking “What the heck is this?”. Poet has been a perfect lady in our home (house trained). So a securely fenced yard will be required.
This little Princess girl has been well cared for and deeply loved all her life. All of her Vet work is done. She has been spayed, heartworm tested negative, wormed, her shots are up to date and she has been Home Again micro chipped. Recently we had her teeth cleaned. A few teeth were pulled, but she has healed and Vet checked healthy.
To the right family, her $450.00 adoption fee includes our $30.00 Minnesota state sales tax, her kennel, a bag of quality dog food, various treats, a new blanket, a special little toy, her leash, princess collar, dog bed (throne), various coats and costumes.
Again, NO children, NO large dogs and a fenced yard will be required. Please contact us if you have any specific questions about Princess Poet.
Like most all rescue groups, because we do home visits before and occasionally after the adoption, we do NOT adopt our Poodles to homes outside a 1 days drive from our location here in central Minnesota.
