My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Layla's owner is having to find a new home for this dog because she has to move into a senior living facility that only allows 1 small dog. Layla is not small. Layla has been with her owner for 10 years. Layla was adopted from ARF those 10 years ago. The owner will definitely miss her. For more information about Layla or to make arrangements to meet her, call her owner at 828-586-5186.

Layla is a very sweet dog who mostly likes a quiet life now that she is older. When she was first adopted, Layla took her guard dog duties very seriously and spent most of her time outside. Layla had enough Shepherd in her to bark to scare away unwanted people. Even now, when the owner tells her a person is ok, Layla switches to collie mode and is very gentle. Layla knows how to use a doggie door and is housebroken. She has never bit anyone--2 legged or 4 legged. She can run uphill just as fast as ever.

There will be no adoption fee to the right person. Layla would best be placed in a home without small children as she has never been around children or cats. Layla has lived with other dogs. Layla's owner is very concerned that this wonderful dog can find an appropriate home and regrets that it can't be with her.
