Hi, my name is Calloway and I am a very special dog that is looking for that very special forever home. I really want a family who will love me unconditionally as I work very hard to become your best friend. I am 5 years old, neutered and up to date on all my shots.
Due to my previous circumstances, I want to be the only dog in the house. If you sit down - even for a second - I want to be one your lap! Where you go I will go - even if it is from room to room. I love to love, be loved and give love. Before, I had to compete with the owner's favorite dog for love and affection. My foster mom thinks I am a real love bug and shouldn't have to compete with any dog for anything. I am a wonderful companion.
I am doing excellent in my foster home with five other dogs. They have been really patient with me as I learn my rules, boundaries, and limitations. I was very confused and did not have good manners before. Now, I am becoming a model dog citizen. I am learning just what is expected of me: to properly greet people as they come to visit, I wait patiently as treats are given out, I am now housebroken, and I walk right at my foster Mom's heal on the walk (she wishes all her dogs would do like I do). I still have a way to go, but I am really smart and I want to prove to you just how great I am.
I need consistent rules, structure, and patience in a loving way. I have a very sweet nature that has unfortunately been buried deep down inside. I just need the right environment and I am so excited to share my sweet side with you! I am a little on the heavy side, but I have lost almost 2 pounds so far. Proper diet and exercise have really helped me to feel lots better. As each day passes, I am thriving more and more. Patience and love are the key for me to overcome my past bad experiences.
