My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTION PENDING
Loving liver and tan bloodhound seeking fur-ever relationship...

Jake comes from a shelter in the DFW area and was brought in with a stray friend of his that was microchipped from Arcadia, Oklahoma.

Jake is estimated to be between 1 and 2 years old. He is 75 lbs and loves to give hugs. Because of this though, he would fit in well with a family with older children. He’s very friendly and affectionate, but does not realize his size. He likes to put his paws on your shoulders to show his love, but he has been working on containing that excitement. He was also caught in a weak moment stealing a tortilla off the kitchen island...but only once. He will need a fenced yard to run in and stretch his legs.
Jake is one who needs to be fed alone and would do best in a home with a female or male who doesn't want to push. Jake is fine with humans and food and treats. Jake is treat driven and has learned sit quickly with training treats. He is also working on down and stay, but he’s still excited from leaving the shelter, so it will just take time and patience.
Jake has not messed inside the house. He started using the dog door as soon as he saw it and has only done business outside. He did not even try to sniff in the house looking for a spot. He sleeps through the night and does not make much noise unless he needs to. He is even trustworthy enough to be left alone without a crate and has not eaten any furniture. He does however prefer a hard chew toy to pass time.
Jake is heart worm negative and just a tad underweight, but he’s been working on adding the pounds.
Jake will bring lots of love and fun to the right family. He just wants to give hugs, run around and take naps.
