I am Davis and I live in the Yukon Territories. My owner was no longer able to look after me so some people are helping me find a new home. I’m so happy I’ll be leaving to begin my new life.
A very kind human is helping me and soon she is sending me to Vancouver. People she knows from HALDR have helped many dogs from the Yukon and now they are going to help me too! I am hoping to find my new home quickly, before I leave here, so I can go straight to my new family! I don’t think it should be too hard because I am good looking and everyone says I am very sweet and gentle! Fingers crossed someone will really like me!
My friends tell me I am a Lab/Pointer cross. I’m friendly, easy-going and energetic so I think its true. And I’m really playful with other dogs - sometimes I can get a little rough because I am just young guy! Lately, I’ve been working on recall, I’m pretty smart, and I’ve got the hang of it now - but I still like to go off and explore sometimes! It’s in my blood to do retrieving, search and rescue, tracking, jogging and agility too, After some good exercise I am quiet in the house. I try to be very respectful because I am just so thankful to be inside and out of the crate!
When I was first rescued, I wasn’t very out-going with people but my rescuer says I’ve come out of my shell. I’ve met new people and they’re all so nice to me. I can trust them now. I don’t know about small people, because I haven’t known any. I’m gentle and affectionate so I think they would like me. And if they are gentle too, I ‘m sure I would like them!
I’m not a lazy lap dog, so I’ll need to go to the dog park, on long walks and hikes and maybe even swimming sometimes. Playing fetch in the yard would be fun too. I’ve never played with toys but I know I’d like some of those squeaky ones, I’ve seen.
I am a good guy - a nice mix of energy, gentleness and affection. I need a family who loves me and who will spend time with me. I will repay them by bringing joy and happiness to their home. I am housetrained, vaccinated and neutered.
