In addition to the following profile for this dog, please first read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html to understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption. An adoption application can also be found in the Adoption Info section. If, after reading that information, you have any questions, please submit your question via e-mail and it will be answered. Please do not request a phone call. A personal phone call will only be made when an adoption application has been submitted and the foster parent wishes to consider the application. Thank you!

Meet Calinda (Lindy), a southern gal , that arrived in snowy Minnesota on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019. Lindy is a 1-1/2 year old ShihTzu/Havanese who weighs about 13 pounds.
Lindy is a spunky, active young dog who is curious about everything, loves to play with her toys and go on walks, even in the snow.

Lindy has been completely vetted, with records available. Current on all shots, blood work, and tests. Spayed. I.D. chipped. Received a dental cleaning. No health issues. Recently groomed.

Very energetic and affectionate, Lindy is working on her house-training, and showing steady improvement; fairly well pad-trained. Sleeps through the night in her bed, on the floor. Will bark to alert owner(s), when startled or hears external noises. Plays with her toys. Is learning commands such as sit, stay and come. Would benefit from dog training classes. Loves to be held, and petted. Eats well. Likes treats. Starting to walk with her harness on a leash, but needs further training.

Ideal home for Lindy would be for someone to be around a good part of the day, or able to come in and out. She would benefit from not being alone for more than 5 or 6 hours. Environment might include older, respective children, or active adults who will include Lindy in many family activities. A fenced-in yard would be a big plus, but not necessary. Appears to be good with other dogs.

Foster parents would like adopter applications to be located within 25 miles of Burnsville/Apple Valley, MN. Lindy's adoption fee is $420.00 plus tax $31.61 for a total of $451.61.

To meet Lindy and other pups for adoption come to Petco near Ridgedale the first Saturday of every month 10am-1pm.
