My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cocoa is a 4 yr old female poodle who is in China. She was used as a breeder and when she developed mastitis, nothing was done for her. She lived with unimaginable pain and the mastitis developed into mammary tumors. No longer being of any use, the breeder sold her to a slaughterhouse to be tortured and made into someone’s meal. She was rescued and taken to a hospital where she had surgery to remove the tumors. We have been on a mission to save a breed we are passionate about, POODLES. Cocoa arrives on March 1. We will be headed out to JFK to pick her up. To follow our progress, please visit our fb page. We have been told that she is a real gentle sweetheart. Her weight indicates that she is a small standard which is a great size if you love standards but would like one not as big. Her adoption fee is $750 and reflects her medical costs, vaccines, flight from China, carrier, boarding, grooming, and supplies. Included in her adoption is her medical papers showing she is up to date on vaccines, a new good quality harness, collar and leash, her new carrier that she flew in, microchipping(including registration fee), free exam at our local veterinarian, free 30 days pet insurance. We don’t know if she is housebroken as she lived in a cage, however we have found that with a poodles intelligence they learn quickly. First priority given to those who have or had a standard poodle or doodle and understand the excercise and grooming requirements.
