Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Konki was obese and in danger of being put down before she came to DCSIR. Her foster family has worked with her to help her adjust to her new life. Konki is sensitive to big changes, but when she settles in and starts to trust you more she wants all the attention and will want to play with you.
Konki likes to have some space to herself. In her foster home, she’s found a corner by the couch that she’s made her own. She will come out and ask for pets when she’s ready, and has recently started sitting on the couch with her foster pawrents. Sometimes, she will even bark for attention.
Konki has been enjoying walks, where she has shown good behavior toward unknown dogs. She will sometimes police the other dog in her foster home when he gets excited over his parents returning home. She would do well with another calm dog that gives her space.
When it comes to humans, she’s is living in a house with a male but she seems to mistrust men a bit. She is definitely bonding faster with her foster mom than her foster dad, but she is warming up to him.
Konki is learning how to accept body handling, and will communicate her limits by walking away when she’s no longer comfortable. She also has minor resource guarding, such as when she saved a treat under her bed, and vocalized if her fosters got too close.
Konki needs someone with patience and a good understanding of positive reinforcement. If you think you would be a good fit, apply for this special girl!
