My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rainey, age approx 18 months old, is one of the 5 Iowa dogs we volunteered to take of a 18 Great Pyrenees dogs that were surrendered. We drove 4 days round trip to bring them back to NY to be cared for. Surprise! they were not all Great Pyrenees. We promised to take 5 dogs so we kept our promise. We took the time to get them well. They had round worms, pin worms, and hook worms which we treated They were severely underweight.

What a sweet face she has. She is shy but warms up. We are looking for a foster home or a forever home with experience with dogs from a neglected back ground. She would do great with another dog to teach how great it is to be a house dog. She has been in a kennel. She will need a 5 foot high fenced yard minimum.

If you have never had a Pyr Puppy you need to read this : http://www.nepyresq.org/page/i-want-a-great-pyrenees-puppy-50.html

The application process is to go to our website and fill out an adoption application form. http://www.nepyresq.org/page/adoption-process-47.html

We do not accept INVISIBLE fencing for the following reasons:
1) Most Pyrs ignore the pain and go through it. 2) This is a guardian breed and this fencing does not keep people or other animals out of your yard. The Pyr could take them as a threat or be attacked.

Most of these dogs are not a dog park breed. They bark a lot and can bother your neighbors.
