Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Miss Ethel came to us with her boyfriend Fred and they make quite the adorable pair. Tiny, sweet and cuddly are just a few words that come to mind when anyone meets this little girl. We are racking our brains to figure out what the true mix of Fred and Ethel is because their bark is very unique and not that of a Chihuahua and does remind us of a Pomeranian (though they are not nearly that "barky"). Whatever their mix they are simply the cutest couple ever. They are around four years old and hover right at the top limit of what qualifies as a teacup dog.
We are very hopeful we can potentially find a home where Fred and Ethel can live together but we are also aware that not everyone is looking for two dogs. If you are that person then you won't regret it. If you are not we know they can each learn to be completely happy in a home without each other.
These loves have shown that they love children, Ethel more than Fred. We are, however, looking for a home where any children that will be around a dog this small is very respectful of dogs and at least eight years old. Cats are okay with these dogs and would most likely show them their place. Large dogs are scary for these little things but they get along great with small dogs and could probably learn to get along great with large, calm dogs.
If you think one or both of these dogs is what you have been looking for to complete your family then read on or go directly to the adoption process page of our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - to learn how to apply to adopt.
All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.
Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
