Meet Packer -
Packer is a 12 year old, short hair, 7 lb. Doxie who desperately seeks of a special needs forever home ASAP! He is blind/deaf and was just rescued from a sad abusive situation by a good samaritan. She has had Packer for 45 days and has improved his health so that he is ready for his new forever home! He may need additional vet care and to get up to date on vaccines. He likes to play with other dogs but can play kind of rough, and could use more socialization. He is friendly with people, kids and cats. He is leash trained, but needs to gain some more weight. Packer loves being held and cuddled, and likes to burrow under blankets. This sweet special senior needs a loving forever home with people that care for him and show him the love and kindness that he deserves! ODR, INC. ADOPTION CRITERIA (aka Our Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria for dogs that we adopt and that we recommend to owners whose doxies we list courtesy posts for, the sole aim of which is to facilitate a successful adoption with a forever family.
*Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time?
*Have a securely fenced yard?
*We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and *Children need to be 12 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie).
*We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc). *Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog.
Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these or similar issues.
