My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rescue Story:
When I was first found by the wonderful people at Zoe's I was in terrible condition. However, they remained "hopeful"... hence the last name, that they would be able to help me. I was found in a remote community with hundreds of porcupine quills in my face and had been left like that for several days. When I arrived at the vet they began to quickly remove the quills. Infection, dehydration, malnutrition and shock had already set in and my heart stopped during the surgery. After over 20 minutes of resuscitation I managed to pull through and keep everyone hopeful in my recovery. It's been a long road, but I'm currently doing amazing and now I'm hopeful that my forever family is out there.
Date of Birth: January 2017
Energy Level: Medium
Size (adult): Medium (50 lbs)
Good with Dogs? Yes
I love to play and meet dogs on walks but am picky when it comes to sharing my humans and home with other pups
Good with Cats? Yes

Good with Kids? Yes
I love EVERYONE I meet
Critter Twitter:
I truly have a heart of gold, according to my foster parents. I love long walks, playing with my toys and afternoon naps. I've never met a person I didn't like.....ummm LOVE! My foster mom calls me her 50lb lap dog but I'm not entirely sure what that means. If I fits, I sits. #lapdog #cuddledog
About my Behaviour:
I am always on my best behaviour when my foster parents leave and am fully house trained and non-destructive. I don't like being in a crate or locked up in small spaces, it makes me nervous. I love taking naps in the sun, looking out the window and don't mind car rides.
I like meeting doggie friends on walks and if introduced properly I love to play. However, in my forever home I would love to have all the attention.
How’s my Health?
Although I like to leave the past in the past, I could still be needing quills pulled in years to come. I am very gentle when my foster parents pull quills and lay down when they need to pluck any out, as I know I will feel better after and always get a treat. It is important to note that even though I am in good health now, quills can migrate throughout my body and could cause some extra vet trips in the future to manage these.
I am neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed.
