My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yukon is a very sweet, very handsome, VERY soft, five month old baby boy. He is so gentle, he is good with a baby. He was rescued, along with his seven siblings, at fourteen weeks from a couple living in an suv. He is a precious puppy looking for his forever home!

His foster mom says the following!

If your looking for a guard dog, this guy is not your guy. I'm sure he'll make sure a burglar finds all the valuables and maybe make him a sandwich for the road with the warmest, softer, loving bear hug. Yukon is an Alaskan Maulmute that had a rough start to life. He was rescued from a van where he was kept. He was covered in fleas. And had been sitting in his own filth long enough to have acid burns on his paws from the urine soaked floor.
That has not stopped him from being extremely friendly. He has not met a person he does not like or that was deserving of some kisses and hugs.
He's been exposed to normal house noises, ie vacuum, dishwasher, lawnmower, grimy kids. Smelly teenagers and loves them all.
He has been briefly introduced to cats, he is very very curious. He would do best with a dog savvy cat and an owner that will put in the time to train him to be gentle with a cat.
Yukon shares his home with 3 other dogs and regularly visits his "mom" next door. He lives with a 10 pound toy dog. A 15 pound beagle, and a 120 pound Irish wolfhound. His "mom" is a boxer next door that dotes on him like a baby. He has no patience with little dogs that have a napoleon complex. He's not just reactive to them, if the little dog starts the fight he will finish it. Some problems arise when the little dog is possessive over his food. His new parents have to know that malmutes in general can be possessive over food and continued training is a must.
Yukon can be lazy, but if you want to hike he's with you, f you want to Netflix and cuddle, he's down!
Crate trained. Eats Kirkland salmon, he has a sensitive stomach, and loves the water bowl. Comes in and out via a doggy door. He's so wonderful, honestly if we knew we were staying in San Diego we'd keep him. He's so relaxed, and so good with non-reactive dogs, and gives the best bear hugs. When he hugs you, you know your loved and you know it's a hug.
