My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're looking a cat full of character, this is your man! Coney is about 3 years old and ready to find his forever home. He is very engaged with his humans and loves to follow you and rub against your legs, but he also knows what he wants and will tell you if it's time for play or cuddles, or adventure! Right now he prefers to lie next to you, rather than on your lap, but he is certainly an affectionate guy.

Coney also appreciates to great indoors, and loves to explore and lounge in all the places! Here's what his foster family have to say about the experience of having him in their home:

"Coney is friendly, funny, cuddly and playful. He is curious and likes to explore all corners of his home. He likes to climb up to high places to observe around him. He is a little shy with new people but warms up quickly. He likes to hide under the bed and behind the bathtub. He loves looking out the window and people watching. He likes to walk along the back of the couch and the side of the bathtub. He tends to cat nap in the middle of the floor. He likes to hunt his feather toy and the he will hunt couch pillows and bring them to you in the morning. Coney likes neck scratches and behind the ear scratches best. He'll endure belly and back rubs for short periods as well as being picked up and cuddled for short amounts of time. He's pretty vocal and has a loud purr as well as an endearing, raspy meow. His tail has a mind of it's own. Coney will walk with you from room to room and stand next to your legs when you're washing dishes or cooking."

The story of how Coney came into our care is an interesting mystery! He was spotted in cold late January when he joined in a cat colony that we regularly feed, but he had a surgical cone around his neck! He was hard to catch because of this, in fact it took us weeks. So he's a real survivor to have found his way out in the cold with this odd item around his head. We searched desperately for his owners, but they could not be found. We also could not see any sign of surgery that would have required a cone. Odd! So we took him to get neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and brought him straight inside. He's not looked back!

Coney is longing to be someone's forever baby and we know that special person is out there.

Coney has had several medical checks, and is deemed to be healthy and in great shape! He did however test positive for FIV. This should not impede him from living a long and health life, but you can ready more here: https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/cat-care/common-cat-diseases

Coney's foster family have very flexible schedules and would love you to visit ASAP and say hi.
