INTRODUCING GERTIE!
It’s surprising that a stunning beauty with punk rock hair like this has come into a large breed rescue! Gertie is a dainty yet spunky doll with a huge personality! She's definitely a large breed in a compact body! Sassy to the max.
Gertie is a blocky yet stunning Shih Tzu. She has the most soulful eyes. She takes a few moments to warm up and then wants to be your best friend. This spunky girl has a connection to people for sure and loves other dogs! She prances around and wiggles her whole body with glee!
She has been fostered with Mastiffs and Frenchies and holds her own with the big dogs. She just wants to play with all dogs! Gertie is extremely smart and has mastered crate training! She is the cutest thing ever. She looks like a stuffed animal but actually plays with you and walks actually prances well on a leash. Willow is crate trained and smart as a whip!
Gertie is 7 months old now. She is a Shih Tzu resulting in brains and beauty! She has a beautiful healthy, non-shedding, hypoallergenic coat. Her coat was shaved after being matted at the breeders big will grow into long flowing locks. She was fostered and raised in a home with other adult dogs and is very well adjusted. Super playful and sweet.
Gertie has been dewormed; is up to date on vaccines and spayed per adoption agreement. She has also been microchipped for safety and security in case she ever gets lost or stolen.
Adoption Fee Applies
Shih Tzu, Poodles, Maltese and Doodle type dogs like this need to be groomed on a regular basis and brushed between groomings to keep them from ever getting matted.
We pre-screen via email so please tell us a little about your lifestyle, work schedule, how many adults, children or pets are in the household, area you live in, house or apartment, breed experience, etc....
We will happily place Gertie in a home with older dog savvy children and another dog or dogs no problem. We expect her to be an indoor dog. She is now on a diet consisting of premium grain-free kibble and has zero food allergies or skin issues.
Gertie is ready for a forever home and new adventures of her very own. She loves to cuddle on the couch and binge watch Netflix or play with with toys in the yard.
Young dogs are a lot of work so please make sure you’re ready for the responsibility, all are on board and that everyone in the household is ready for the long term commitment that training, grooming, brushing and exercise a dog like this requires.
Should things move forward to a meet & greet/home check situation ALL family members, kids and pets currently living at the residence must be present. The meet and greet to not only make sure she gels with you guys and your dog but that everyone in the family is on board and equally as enthusiastic.
We do not make exceptions to this rule.
