My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DESTINY is a sweet, quiet, well-behaved girl who is hoping her destiny is a loving, forever home. This precious dog was found on a blanket in the middle of a large field out in the country where coyotes frequent with dog food poured on the blanket. It appears she was abandoned and, sadly, she stayed on that blanket for days waiting for those who abandoned her to return. There is no telling what she had to defend herself against while she was out there. It was several days after she was spotted before her rescuers were able to capture her and bring her in. Destiny is a sweet little girl who is a little shy when she first meets people and other dogs but warms up to them once she gets to know them. She enjoys playing with another dog her size in her foster home but is leery around the larger dogs. She would love to have a forever family to call her own that can give her the love she deserves. Destiny would do best in a home without other pets or children (her history with children is unknown), and with an individual or family who will work with her to make her feel secure. All this little girl wants is to be loved by her human. She is very gentle and well-mannered taking treats and being fed but is protective of her food with other animals because of all that she has been through. She is fully vetted and spayed and was a favorite with the staff while she was in boarding. She is house trained and crate trained.
If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Destiny if it means she will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer rescue to cover at least part of the cost of the veterinary care Destiny has received.
