My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee: $100
Fostered in Indian Trail, North Carolina
Age: 13 years
Weight: 5 lbs.

4/14/19 - Mia was discharged from the hospital the evening following her surgery and is recovering in her foster home. Thank you again to everyone who helped us save Mia!

4/10/19 - YHR received a telephone call today from a vet who was extremely worried about one of her patients. Mia's family had taken her in because she was very ill and she was diagnosed with pyometra. She needed immediate surgery! The owners could not afford the surgery and were going to take her home where she would have suffered more and died. They agreed to surrender to a rescue but would not euthanize her if a rescue could not take her. Needless to say the vet was upset and reached out to us.

We desperately need donations for her surgery, but we could not wait...she had the surgery and is now at the emergency clinic for observation overnight. Poor Mia has teeth that are in horrible shape (7 basically fell out during her surgery...she will need a dental in the future and will probably lose all of her teeth) and she also has pneumonia which the vet thinks is due to the vomiting she was doing (she probably aspirated).
