Meet Noodle. She is a 5 month old Maltese/Yorkie/ wire coated Jack mix, 5 months old and weighs 6 pounds. She came to us from a hoarder situation, living in a basement, no name, no attention BUT that has all changed. She is a happy little one that loves to play and cuddle. She is still somewhat timid and will need someone to help her catch up on socialization but she has bonded with her foster and will do the same in her new home.
Noodle will go into a foster to adopt home until she is spayed. The adopter will agree to foster Noodle, completing the adoption after she is spayed. All medical expenses will be handled by Star-Mar Rescue. This allows for Noodle to be in her forever home but not be adopted prior to spay. Noodle is being fostered in the Akron, OH. area and ideally should stay in that area or close. We have done this with every puppy we've had in rescue and it works very well.
Noodle is crate trained and doing very well with house training. She has never lived without another dog and she LOVES to play with them so another playful, dog in the home is a must. She is not a good candidate for a home with children due to her size and timidness and will need to live with someone that has the time and desire to focus on her.
Noodle's adoption will require.... a fenced yard or area that leads directly into the home. She will need someone who is not working a typical 40 hour work week; someone that works very part time, works from home and can have their dog in their work space or someone that is retired. Noodle will need an established dog in the home for her to follow/copy, one that is very playful and an adopter that can take her with them a lot so that she can enjoy all the things this little puppy missed out on. Noodle's foster to adopt home must follow our natural care program, discussed below.
Star-Mar Rescue is a natural care provider and we place our dogs in homes that are already on a natural care program or are eager to learn. We use no chemicals on our dogs, no commercial flea products (oral or topical), do blood titers instead of randomly vaccinating. Our yards are without fertilizer and weed killer and our homes are toxin free. We feel that dogs can be protected without being harmed by harsh chemicals and unnecessary vaccinations and do best on a species appropriate, no grain, raw diet. Frozen raw diets, freeze dried or dehydrated no grain. Raw, no grain foods are easily gotten at many pet stores and on line and are no more expensive than a high quality dry food. This simple step will provide your dog the nutrition needed to keep them healthy and happy for many years unlike feeding a lifetime of processed foods. We are happy to help with this transition. Please do some research on natural care and raw feeding and decide whether or not you are wanting to care for Noodle in this manner before requesting an application.
