My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mr. Potter (Harry perhaps?) is a magical little boy. He came from a shelter where he ended up after having been found running scared next to a very busy stretch of highway. His lucky day came when a young family found and adopted him. But it was not to last long - unfortunately this little man was startled by the young boy in the house who was getting used to how to behave around dogs. So, another magical thing happened for him - this family refused to take him back to the shelter and reached out to us to take him in.

Potter is a lovely young boy who gets along great with other dogs, cats, and believe it or not - KIDS! He will actually seek out children! We have no idea what happened in his previous household that he didn't like their son, but we've never seen a bit of hesitation between him and children. He loves everyone he meets and the silliest thing he does is related to when he's picked up - he doesn't know what to do with his legs. He probably wasn't picked up much when younger. Let him jump in your lap and it's a different story altogether.

Housetrained, crate trained, and ready to cuddle with just the right family, this little guy could use some more magic to find the perfect forever home. Could you be the one to cast that spell? If so, please read on or go directly to the adoption process page of our website, throwmeabonedogrescue.org to start the application.

All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.

Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
