My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

G'Day Mate!! Sydney is a friendly, happy, loving Australian Cattle Dog. She is young, not quite a year old, and she wants to play! She was limited because she was recovering from surgery on a broken leg, but it is all healed now and she is ready to kick up her heels and throw a few shrimp on the barbie in her new forever home.

She is smart and attentive. She loves catching your gaze and looks to you for attention, instructions, and love. She is always happy and wags her tail for everything: belly rubs, snuggling next to you (kind of on top of you), food, treats - she is even delighted when she drinks water. “WooHoo! Water! wag wag wag” Although she is enthusiastic, she is very gentle with her mouth and takes treats softly. She is completely house trained and crate trained. She spends her nap time quietly and sleeps soundly in our room in her pen.

Sydney loves to go on a walkabout. She is a natural on-leash - she doesn't pull, and she stays by your side (maybe due to her herding breed genetics?). Unless, that is, she sees a bird or a squirrel - then you better have a good hold on the leash. She doesn’t bark at them, but her first instinct is to go after them. She doesn’t even bark when she sees another dog, even if that dog barks at her. She thinks of every dog she sees as a friend she hasn’t met yet.

To sum it up: Sydney loves people and dogs; she is alert, curious, and unafraid; and she only barks when she wants to join in on the fun (or when our crazy dogs
