Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When Misty was picked up as stray by San Antonio Animal Control all she felt was relief! She didn’t know anything about statistics and that most dogs like her never made it out alive. She just felt safe from the street and she spent her first days overjoyed to have a meal and a place to lay her head. Misty didn’t know when they moved her to the transition kennels that it meant the end of the line. Starved for human companionship she happily followed her handler to the next building. In just a matter of hours the call went out! San Antonio was killing for space!! And Misty was on their list!
A west coast Rescue answered the plea and said they would save four of the dogs, Misty included. But the Rescue needed someone in Texas to foster the dogs until transport could be arranged. Harley’s Angels Sanctuary stepped up to foster and all four dogs were saved. As promised two of the dogs made transport and headed to their new homes in the Northwest. But as the weeks rolled by, and repeated attempts to contact the Rescue went unheeded, it became apparent that the remaining two dogs – Misty and Arlene – had been abandoned again!
Misty is a young girl who longs deeply for human companionship. To save her life she was only supposed to have a temporary stay with a Rescue that had been set up specifically to provide safety and shelter for the wild, the fearful, and the aggressive dogs who are deemed unadoptable. Those dogs who have no interest in people whatsoever. Misty is not any of those. Whenever Misty sees a human approach her kennel run she fairly dances along the fence line begging, begging, begging, “Please notice me – please take me with you.” Misty so needs a person and a family to call her very own!
Misty is approximately 2 years old, spayed, completely vetted, loves people and gets on famously with other dogs! She is a sweet, sweet girl who needs and deserves someone to share that love. If you think you just may be the perfect parent for this girl please let us know. She is in Texas currently, but transport is available for a committed adopter.
