My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Athena.....I was named after Athena, the Warrior Goddess. Named aptly as I have been through some struggles in my early life. Now I am here in Vermont ready for the right humans to take me into their home and work with my strengths, teaching me how to trust and to become the best companion. I love children, playing with them and just being with them. I am not trusting of other dogs or cats. And sadly, I do have some issues with protectiveness surrounding food. I am learning to respond to my name, come when called, especially if there is a treat reward, and I am crate trained. With human patience and love, I am sure that I have the potential to become a wonderful companion in my forever home.
