Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Fritz is a handsome 9 year old, 23 pound black and tan, charming boy who is ready for a forever home to call his very own.
Fritz is a calm, loving and submissive boy who is happy to sleep in his very own bed, in your lap or in the big bed with you. Fritz enjoys going for walks and does very well on a leash. Fritz gets along well with other dogs and enjoys meeting people when he is out for his walks. Fritz would do well in a home with respectful children of 11 and older. He has not been tested with cats.
Fritz is a fun love guy and he enjoys playing with squeaky toys and chewing on bones. He is very happy to entertain himself. He is not an excessive barker and is very friendly with people who he meets in his foster home. Young at heart, Fritz is a bouncy boy when he is happy and will let you know how much he loves life. Fritz loves to play catch with toys
Fritz is a big boy and he and his foster mom in Florida are working on helping him lose some weight. His forever home will need to restrict the size of his meals and limit snacks until he reaches his ideal weight.
Fritz is house trained and does well in a crate. Like all dachshunds he will need to be confident in their environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important.
This handsome boy is ready and waiting for his forever home. Are you going to be the lucky one to welcome him into your family?
