My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated October 2023:
Annie is a very special special needs dog. She is completely deaf, but very happy and athletic. She was born in September 2016 and is a happy 7 year old.

She's looking for a very experienced adoptive home that can work with her and keep her safe. She's enthusiastic about everything she does. (Lately that's digging!) She is interested in playing with other dogs, but her cues and enthusiasm can be misunderstood - for those reasons, we'd prefer for her to be an only dog. She has a strong prey drive and cannot be placed with cats. She's crate trained.

She's spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up-to-date on vaccines. If you'd like to learn more about her, call or text Jody at 352-316-5155 or email her at 2ndChRescue@gmail.com.

PS. Second Chance Rescue posts our pets on AdoptAPet.com. While we are grateful that AdoptAPet shares their information with partner sites, including Overstock and PetHarbor and others, we don't have any control over how frequently those partner sites update their content. Their adoption process

1.

Interview

We usually begin with a phone call and introductions to answer questions and ensure that the pet is a good match for your family.

2.

Submit Application

We have an easy on-line application.

3.

Meet the Pet

We do not have a public facility. After your application is approved you would be invited to visit the pet at one of our foster homes.

4.

Sign Adoption Contract

A home visit is usually done to deliver the pet and complete the adoption contract.

Additional adoption info

Each adoption has an application process, home visit, contract, and adoption donation. The process almost always starts with a brief telephone conversation to get things started! :-) Call today and we'll do our best to match you with a great forever friend!

Most of our adoptions are done following a telephone conversation, application approval and play date/home visit. If you are interested in a particular dog, give us a call or text today!

More about this rescue

Second Chance Rescue is headquartered in Orange Lake, Florida. We cover a rural area in the Gainesville/Ocala region with a network of volunteers and foster homes. While many of our rescued dogs come from animal shelters, we also get a number of them through "shelter diversion" contacts - where we take in a dog or litter that is likely to end up there without our help. (We do not have a public facility in Orange Lake - but that zip code is fairly central to our network of foster homes.)
