My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sam! He is the last of his brothers and sister to find a home. This little boy is one of 4 puppies that was saved with his momma from a horrendous breeding operation. His mom, Miss Sophie, was in rough shape, had no fur and had mange covering her entire tiny body. Sam and his siblings had eye infections and they were all in desperate need of medical attention. Luckily they were saved from that horrible environment and given the best care by their Texas foster moms.

Sam is now being fostered in Cambridge WI with two kids and two smaller older dogs. Sam loves to play, explore, and snuggle! Some of his favorite games are chasing after balls, wrestling with same size fur friends, and friendly tug of war with fleece rope toys or draw strings on your clothes. Any fisherman out there?? Sam is your guy to find the best worms from your yard but make sure you remind him that they are not for rolling on and just for your fishing trip. After a walk around the block or a romp around the yard Sam is alway game for tummy rubs and snuggling. Of course Sam is also practicing all of the fun puppy training activities too. He’s learning attention games, sit, and come. Potty training is also going as expected for a small puppy. If he’s not snuggling or playing then he probably has to go potty. He can hold his potty from about 10pm to 6am when he sleeps through the night in his kennel. Because he’s still a puppy he will need a lunch break during the day. He would prefer to have a couple 4 hour sessions kenneled during the day with a break or two to go potty and play. Sam doesn’t need a running buddy and is pretty mellow and medium energy for a small dog. He might be on track to some day be called a couch potato but it’s a little early to tell.

Some fun activities Sam has gotten to enjoy while in Wisconsin include soccer games, farmers markets, local store to collect dog food donations, walking trails, playgrounds, going to garage sales, outing to a pub, walks around the neighborhood to meet the neighbors, trip to the vet to stay UTD on vaccines, & car rides to run errands.

Sam is alert and loves to watch what is going on around him. He also likes to make sure that you know that he needs some like to go potty or to play or just a pet. When he sees new things or wants your attention he has a bark to tell you about it. He’s quiet most of the time but does use his voice to appropriately communicate his thoughts or excitement. He also has a happy wagging tail to show his fur friends and the people he meets how happy he is to make new friends.

Sam is loved by his foster family and they hope he can find a wonderful forever family who loves him just as much or more!

He can go into a home with children 6 years and older.
