My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Something about Ada makes you smile when you look at her pictures. Maybe it’s because she seems to be smiling back at you or sticking out her tongue to laugh with you that has such appeal. Whatever it is, you can see that she is a girl who likes nothing better than to be around people and other canines.

Ada is only about a year old. She is a shepherd mix with a short black and tan coat. The black and tan patterned markings on her face accent her brown eyes and black nose. Her ears are floppy but short making you wonder what the other “mix” of her is. She is full grown weighing about 50 pounds.

She has been living with her foster mom who finds her to be a “playful little girl” who is also energetic. She loves to play with other dogs and loves to be around kids. Ada has been working on house, crate, and leash training. She is making progress in all three areas. Part of that success is because she didn’t lose her confidence even though she was abandoned. And she wants to please.

Shepherds are known for their intelligence and loyalty. They like to be busy, to play, and to have something do, which they probably consider “work.” Ada will need daily exercise be it walks or trips to a dog park or a place to run. After all, she is leaving the pup stage so she still has energy to spare. She is now a teen heading towards adulthood who will need a home where someone is willing to continue her training using the right guidance. Of course, it will require time, energy, and patience but the result will be a devoted lifetime companion.
