Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.
My name is Tony and I am a 6 year old neutered male Yorkshire Terrier who came to my good friends at NBS Animal Rescue when I was found as a stray in Detroit and ended up in the city shelter. My awesome foster family opened their heart and home to me while I look for my fur-ever family - could it be with you???
My foster mom says I'm a sweet little fella who is pretty low key most of the time and that I prefer to be a close companion to people I love. I'm doing well with potty training, although I still have a few accidents when I'm not kept on a schedule by my humans. I'm living with another canine foster sibling at home and we get along well - he's not too much into playing either, so we enjoy exploring a fenced yard in the sunshine and snoozing on our comfy dog beds. My foster home has human kids as well and I think they are pretty cool too.
Like most dapper gentlemen like myself, I enjoy a good long walk with my humans, meeting new people (they always have the best treat!), and snoozing in the sunshine whenever possible.
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?
These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 5-6 hour periods.
- Children must be 8yrs or older
- Fenced yard or ability to leash walk several times a day preferred. No electric fences please.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
