My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Smiley came to us from a nice couple that found him roaming the streets of South Sacramento.  They gave him a loving home for 7 months until they lost their house to a short sale & were moving to an apartment and could not keep Smiley.  They took him to the vet & he is current on his routine shots. Smiley is a very handsome boy.  Beautiful eyes and coat. We are working on He is in excellent health. He loves walks and displays an almost regal prance when he gets going. But he does not pull on the leash and is very happy going for a walk. I have also ran with him at a moderate pace and he enjoys that. He is good with other dogs & cats.  He has never (not even once) barked!  He is still getting used to all of the excitement at the rescue & can be a bit shy to warm up.  We are hoping this will change.  He is always a good boy, but he hasn't shown a lot of affection to anyone yet and can shy away when someone tries to pet him.  We feel he really needs to put down roots with a loving owner and have his own forever home so he can bond and be more comfortable.  This dog, given the love, has the potential to be the love of some lucky pet owner's life.  Just a beautiful boy. He should go to an active home that will take him out for walks & play time. He would do best with someone that is retired and is home all of the time.  A quiet home is best for Smiley.
