This handsome fella is Jack. He is living in a warehouse in Tampa. He was found living the warehouse lot, being fed junk food by all the workers, and he became very overweight. The owner of the warehouse became attached to Jack and he to him, so Jack moved inside. Now he guards the warehouse. That's the problem. The owner is not always there and Jack is the boss when the warehouse owner is gone. When he brought Jack inside he treated him like his own. Jack had a big fatty tumor on his chest which was very uncomfortable to him, and his new owner took him to the vet and had it taken off. He also helped Jack loose weight down to a healthy size by keeping him on the correct diet. Now he has had to make a decision - he loves Jack but decided its not working out at the warehouse. His wife doesn't like Jack so he can't go home to live. So sadly, Jack needs to find a home. If you're looking for a real Jack Russell who will be your best friend, will guard your property and bark at strangers, this could be your boy. Jack is young, about 4 yrs old, and about 15-16 lbs. PLEASE READ!
1. Jack Russell Terriers need homes with a secure fence. Underground fencing is NOT safe for a Jack Russell.
2. Jack Russell terriers are bred to be hunting dogs and are not suited to apartment or condo life. The hunting instincts and prey drive cannot be trained out of these terriers and they will stay active in this way all their lives.
3. We do not adopt Jack Russell Terriers to families withe small children (under 6) as terriers are not patient with the antics of a small toddler.
4. Jack Russell Terriers can not safely coexist in a home with cats, birds, ferrets, hamsters, rabbits, etc, as terriers were bred to hunt and can kill small animals. They are hunters and they never give up.
5. Please keep an open mind and consider your lifestyle both today and 10 years from now before you apply for a dog that may not be a good fit for the long run.
