Pudge was picked up by Oakland Animal Control as a stray. He was easy to handle, but a little scared. He was overweight, lethargic and some skin issues. Blood work determined that he has hypothyroidism. X-rays indicated an enlarged liver, but no signs of liver disease was detected in his blood work. Since starting on medication (synthroid), his skin condition has cleared up and he is slimming down to a normal weight for his size. His energy levels are good. Medication for hypothyroidism is very inexpensive ($5 a month).
Pudge is a “velcro dog.” He loves being with his human(s), cuddling on a lap. He has also bonded with the foster family’s dog. He needs a home where he can get lots of attention. He would do well with another small, friendly dog, He lives with a cat and has had no issues.
