My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sargent is still in New Orleans with Looziana Basset Rescue but can be easily transported up to the Northeast using Rescue Road Trips. He is around 5 years old. He is from a hoarding situation in LaPlace, LA but has a very resilient temperament so was able to survive it. He is vaccinated, wormed, neutered, microchipped and has been treated for heartworms. He is still a bit shy but loves people and other dogs. More info and more photos will be posted soon. His adoption fee is $300 and the fee to transport is $185. We check vet references and do home visits prior to an adoption. Please email me at LoozianaBassetRescue@gmail.com for more information.

From Sargent's foster Mom:

Sargent came from a bad situation, but you would never know it. He's such a sweet, happy and playful boy, and he's sure to put a smile on your face. Sargent is a hound mix who is around 5-years old. He is in a foster home with other dogs and cats, and he gets along with everyone he meets. He loves plush toys and snuggling, and he would love to be in a home where he is allowed to cuddle on the couch with you. Sargent is housebroken, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. He is learning to sit for a treat.

Sargent is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and has been treated for heartworms. He would do well in almost any home, but would probably be best with older children. And, as a hound with an active nose, he'd be safest in a home with a securely fenced yard.
