My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Belle came to us from an Ohio county shelter. She is a lovely 2 1/2 yr old cropped and docked black female. This Belle of the Ball is like a high performance machine! She has moderate energy in the house but outside, she is ready to go! This girl has some intense hunting skills. Belle intensely watches squirrels out the window, dreaming of the opportunity to chase them down. Her dream turned into reality recently as she was able to chase, catch and kill a rat. She was so proud of her accomplishment and couldn't wait to bring it in the house and share her bounty with her foster mom. Needless to say, foster mom did not share in Belle's enthusiasm. Due to Belle's prey drive and her athleticism, she will need to have a home with no cats, bunnies, rats or other pocket pets, and will also need a physical fence to keep her safe.
Belle is a typical female in that she is affectionate, but not what we would consider Velcro. She is sweet and has gained the nickname of "the worm" because she will push with her back legs and snake her body onto her human's lap. Due to her intense prey drive, she does tend to jump at passing vehicles on her walks but has been fine with other dogs and people she has met in social settings. Belle will flourish with continued training. She is a confident girl who is comfortable in her own skin.
