My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bobby is a handsome catch who comes to our rescue from South Carolina. When Bobby went into our care he was shut down and withdrawn. Through time, patience and lots of love from his foster family, he has emerged a happy, friendly and playful guy. His little nubbie tail wags, wags, wags when he greets you at the door. Bobby’s breed is anyone’s guess. He looks like he has some collie in him, and maybe a little lab. We do not guarantee any breed mix/combo. Bobby is approximately 5 years old, is 57 pounds and is housetrained.

Bobby has transformed into a playful, cuddly, loving dog who is usually touching, leaning against, or curled up with you during downtime. He loves, loves, loves the water. He’ll play in hoses and irrigation systems, so he’s a lot of fun when you’re washing your car. Bobby has been for a few boat rides and will get into the water freestyle when stopped at the favorite swimming hole. He gets excited at just the sight of water and gives you no trouble when it’s bath time! Bobby knows his basic manners and commands, and likes pleasing you and getting treats. His favorite treat is Redi-Whip straight from the can! He is a stuffed toy dog and will self-entertain by throwing around stuffed toys, which occasionally end up getting tossed onto countertops! He likes to play tug-of-war and will do zoomies in the yard when he’s got a toy in his mouth.

Bobby enjoys walks, and is great in the car. He’s just an all-around outdoor enthusiast, and we would love to see him adopted to people who will take him on outdoor adventures. Bobby will need a little time readjusting to his forever home, so we are looking for a patient adopter who will commit time to training so he continues his transformation. Bobby gets along great with other dogs and he is also great with cats. He will actually snuggle up with his foster family’s cat from time to time. He would do fine as the only dog in the home or with other animals.

Bobby has been fully vetted, is heartworm negative and is up to date on all vaccines. He is neutered, microchipped, and on current heartworm prevention and flea prevention. Bobby does have a back leg that ever so slightly curves inwards. The vet checked him out and said it’s fine. It doesn’t bother him at all, and it certainly doesn’t hold him back from zoomies and swimming!
