Please welcome Mickie to Paws and People Rescue!!! Look at those ears!!! Who could resist such cuteness?? This delightful pup is thought to be a mix of papillon and chihuahua maybe? We do know however that she is adorable!!!

Mickie and her sister Ella made the trip to Colorado from a rural Texas shelter shelter where they found as strays. Both siblings are sweet and social. Mickie, the bigger of the two, is a special girl that was likely born with a curvature of the spine. This tiny girl weighing only 2.6 lbs at 10 weeks old has no problem getting around. She hops around and plays and plays with her sister!!! Don’t tell her she can’t keep up because she’ll gladly prove you wrong!! She loves to cuddle on your lap but definitely has some energy to burn.

Little Mickie has been evaluated by our veterinarians who have recommended that Mickie not have surgery since she is not in pain and has mobility. It has beeen determined that she was likely born with the curve in her spine due to her mother not having proper nutrition. Mickie does need some help with going up stairs but could possibly master the stairs as she grows. Even though she has some restricted movement in her hind legs, Mickie does have complete control of her bowels.
