Lily is a lovely, smart little Shih Tzu with a sunny disposition. She is 5-6 years old and weighs 12 pounds. She has expressive brown eyes and white and gold coloring. She is healthy and active, and her personality keeps evolving with new experiences. While not a lap dog, Lily likes to be around you, but then she likes her separate time too. Lily sleeps well all night long on the bed next to her foster mom.
When she is comfortable, Lily’s spirited side comes out. She does the happy dance at mealtimes and runs around the back yard with her tail flying. She’s learned her name, some basic commands, and is picking up lots of new words. She is learning about play with toys. She is house trained with regular trips outside. She walks well on a leash and is good in the car. Lily likes company and would do best in a home with someone home most of the day or with another small dog companion. Lily came from a puppy mill situation and is learning to trust. Since she is very fearful, she will need a home that will help her continue to gain confidence. That confidence will come with slow, steady exposure to new experiences, good training, and being able to interact positively with her new family. The ideal home for her would be with someone who has the time and skills to continue her training. Because of Lily’s background, she needs a home without children.
Lily is healthy, spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. She has had extensive dental work done and is on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Her adoption fee is $320.00 plus sales tax of $24.08 for a total of $344.08. Lily’s foster mom would like her adopters to live within 25 miles of Minneapolis, MN and hope that they will attend the annual Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held in September each year.
