My story

Shadow is a 8 year old female Lab Mix. She is a little shy at first but once she gets to know you she loves being by your side. Shadow thinks she is a lap dog and enjoys a good belly rub. She walks well on a leash and will protect you from pesky squirrels. Shadow may be a little “up there” in age but she is still active and will goof around accordingly. She only likes to hang with fellow ladies and loves hiking and shredded cheese! When Shadow came to us (3 and a half yrs. ago) she had already been microchipped. She needs female companions with plenty of space from the neighbors. Shadow needs to be the only pet in the home. She is spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccinations. *Applications are on www.vwchs.org under ""Find a Friend"" tab or in the office. Must have approved application for a meet & greet.***Please fill out an application found on our website under ""adopt a pet"" and send it in to start adoption process.**All Dog Adoption Fee's are $175 Cats are $100Includes initial Vaccinations, De-Worming, Flea Meds, Heartworm Testing, & Spay/Neuter

More about this shelter

Van Wert is a small rural community. The Van Wert County Humane Society has seen hard times in the past but since the Humane Society is under a new board, things have changed for the better and we work hard to care for and adopt the animals at the shelter. We have a small base of volunteers that will come and spend time with the animals at the shelter. We take donations of any sort, and the Humane Society is 501c3.
