My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi ya’ll. We’re Dorothy and Blanche (the Golden Girls) or as Foster Mom calls us, “The Girls.” We are on the lookout for our furever home. Let us tell you a little bit about ourselves. We aren’t the “chase the ball” type. Our foster brother Bailey does that. Seems like it takes a lot of energy. We would rather lie in the sun, work on our tan and watch the grass grow. On a sleepover a while back, Miss Colleen called us the Country Time Lemonade Girls. But we’re not lazy! Ask us if we want to go for a walk and we are bouncing to the door. Sometimes we get kind of protective of Foster Mom and Dad on our walks. The rest of the time, we just kind of chill. But oh do we like to cuddle and have a back rub! Then we’ll turn over and let you rub our belly. It’s like heaven! We are great greeters when mom or dad come home. Our tails are going 100 miles per hour while we wait for the door to open. Sometimes us girls have skin that can be sensitive and have to it a little extra attention. That's me, Dorothy. So I try to eat right, relax and mom gives me a special pill that helps me from itching. As for those other critters that purr, we used to have a couple of them living with us. (They moved far away to Chicago.) We didn't bother with them. We’ve been with SOCKS for a while. We weren’t in the best of shape back in the beginning. But those nice people had us treated for something called heart worms. Those nasty things are gone now. We get a “special” treat so they don’t come back. The world looked kind of fuzzy so we both had cataract surgery. I (Dorothy) can see really well now. But later on I (Blanche) got something called glaucoma in my other eye. So that my eye wouldn’t hurt, it was removed. But I’m still cute as a bug in a rug and I have my other eye to see with. We are up to date on our shots. Ouch! There will be no more puppies for us. We are a package deal. Before coming to SOCKS, we had such a hard time we couldn’t have made it without each other. Now we can’t imagine being apart. In fact, we like being together so much that I (Dorothy) use Blanche for a pillow. We try to keep our girlish figure and only weigh about 25 pounds or so. You shouldn’t ask a girl her age but we are eight and ten years young. If you think you would like to have us be part of your family, go to S.O.C.K.S. if you have any questions or to complete an application.
