My story

Chopper is a very handsome young man and quite honestly, he wins the award for THE best dog to ever come through the rescue!

He is a fantastic dog.. very laid back. He does like to play with chew toys and if this boy becomes yours...you may want to stock up on balls...he absolutely lives for balls! He loves his doggie pool filled with water an human in-ground pools too! He loves to play fetch with the object landing in the pool for him to take a splash while retrieving it. if you're looking for a water loving dog...he's your boy! He loves car rides. He can get a bit of "selective hearing" when he plays. He knows a few basic commands but could use some more training as far as not jumping up on you when playing.

Chopper loves to be outside so a home that allows him indoor access but also outside time too would be best.

He is an AWESOME boy. He gets along wth dogs (but is the alpha), we have had him around older kids and he does great. We have not tested him with cats or young children, when he gets super excited he can jump up and does not know his own strength, so if you have children, you would have to remind him to stay down.

Chopper is neutered, up to date of vaccines and microchipped.

Please note: Chopper has been DNA tested. Although we thought he had pitbull in him, he does not have any pittie in him. His body is the size of an adult lab. Vet guesses his birthday to be around December 2016.

August sizzling hot adoption special: Chopper's adoption fee is just $50!!

Additional adoption info

Rainbow Valley Animal Search and Rescue (R.A.R.)
has a process for making sure each adoption is a perfect fit for both the animal and the family.

Because we want to make sure it is a good fit for all involved, we conduct in-home meet and greets, so the dog you are interested in can meet all humans living in the home as well as any other pets. The home check also consists of making sure your yard is secure and home is a safe environment.

Once it is determined the dog would be a wonderful addition to your family, we would then go over the adoption contract. Once that is complete, you are officially the owner of a new furbaby!

Our fees are $200 for adult dogs and $225 for puppies, unless other wise noted.

More about this rescue

Rainbow Valley Animal Search and Rescue is a non-profit organization that specializes in the rescue of stray animals in hopes of returning them swiftly to their homes. In the event that no owners are found, the placement of abused, unwanted and abandoned companion animals becomes the priority. We also on occasion, take in animals that owners no longer can keep. In some instances, we have fostered the dog for a few months until the owner can get back on their feet and be able to keep their dog.

By involving and educating the community, Rainbow Valley Animal Search and Rescue works to raise the public's awareness of the plight of homeless animals as well as realizing the benefits of adopting an animal in need. We also focus on raising community awareness of the importance of spaying/neutering pets and providing informational resources to pet owners.

All animals are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped before they are placed in carefully screened homes.
