Hi-I'm Shuga, I'm a sweet young girl who is full of love and life, and I can promise I will keep you laughing with my silly antics. I currently live in a foster home with two other pups, one who is around my same age and one who is an older boy. I'm very playful with my young pup friend and I respect my elder by not bothering him too much when he doesn't want to play. I absolutely LOVE car rides and I sit patiently waiting to see what new adventure I'm being taken on. I picked things up very quickly in my foster home and I have never had an accident in the house. I'm also content going right into my kennel when my foster mom goes to work. I mastered walking on a leash immediately and I don't pull when we go on afternoon strolls. I have never met a stranger and when a new person comes to visit I'm on giant tail wag and smile combo as I greet them at the door. I'm your typical border collie, I'm smart and easily trainable, and I love to have job. I'm not super high energy but on days that I have extra time to romp around the backyard with my dog friends, I nap and lounge equally as hard. My foster mom had two words to describe me and she picked loyal and snuggly. So basically I will be your number one fan for the rest of my life AND you will never spend a lonely night on the couch or in your bed. She didn't mention how cool my ears are, so I'm throwing that in too in case you missed it. I will be patiently waiting for your application and I can't wait to meet you!
All of our pets start their journey in Memphis Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted.
In order to qualify for ALIVE’s program all of the following steps must be met: • You must be at least 24 years of age and be able to provide ALIVE with proof of age. • Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided. • If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease. • All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed. • Allow an ALIVE Rescue Memphis representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new dog or cat. • Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet.
Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis in the Memphis area over 4 months of age is $275.00, a dog under 4 months of age is $300.00 and a cat is $150.00.
Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis to the Nashville area is $325.00. The $325.00 adoption fee includes transport to the Nashville area.
Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis to the Chicago area is $475.00. The $475.00 adoption fee includes transport to the Chicago area.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you submit an application immediately to start the adoption process. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, ALIVE Rescue Memphis is operated 100% by volunteers. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
